Wireless Mouse CE-RED Certification Process

Update time : 2024-11-13

A wireless mouse refers to a mouse that connects to a computer without a cable, using wireless technology to communicate, thus eliminating the need for wires. Common wireless communication technologies include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi (IEEE802.11), InfraRED (IrDA), ZigBee (IEEE802.15.4), and others. Due to its wireless transmission function, wireless mouse products must comply with China’s srrc certification regULations for radio equipment.

For wireless products sold in the European Union market, as of June 13, 2016, EU member states have adopted the new Radio Equipment Directive (RED); wireless products that comply with the old R&RTTE directive are prohibited from being sold in the EU market.

The EU implemented the Common Charger requirement through amendments to the RED. On December 7, 2022, the official journal OJ formally published the amendment Directive (EU) 2022/2380 concerning the common charger, supplementing the specific implementation requirements for the universal charging interface under Article 3.3(a) of the RED Directive 2014/53/EU.

All devices with a Type-C charging interface must be equipped with a USB Type-C charging interface compliant with the EN IEC 62680-1-3:2021 standard and should support charging with cables meeting the same standard.

On June 27, 2023, the EU approved the adoption of the 2022 versions of the IEC 62680-1-2 and -1-3 standards.

Wireless Mouse CE-RED Testing Projects:

1. Electromagnetic Compatibility Testing (EMC)

2. Safety Testing (LVD for RED directive, including RF products powered by batteries)

3. Radio communication equipment testing based on European ETSI standards (RF Testing)

4. Notification of permitted frequency bands in Europe

5. Electrical safety and health protection testing (SAR evaluation/testing)

1. English manual

2. Circuit diagram

3. List of key components

4. Circuit description

5. Label and its location

6. PCB layout

7. Power adapter en60950 safety report or battery IEC/en62133 report
