Which Certification Standards Must In-vehicle DAB Meet?

The automotive industry's globalization has led to an increasing demand for in-vehicle DAB products in the export market. However, to successfULly penetrate international markets, enterprises must ensure that their products adhere to various regulatory requirements across different countries and regions. Below, we present a concise overview of the certification standards that in-vehicle DAB products must meet in select regions.

 

EU Region

For the EU region, in-vehicle DAB products are requiRED to:

 

- Meet E-mark Certification: Adhering to the ECE R10 standard.

- Obtain CE-RED Certification: Conforming to standards such as:

  - EN 62368-1

  - en 55032

  - EN 55035

  - EN 301 489

  - EN 303 345

  - en 50665

 

Gulf States Region

In the Gulf States, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Yemen, in-vehicle DAB products must comply with:

 

- GSO 2693:2022 Standard: Which outlines specifications for DAB+ in-vehicle products.

- SASO 2938:2019 Standard: For Saudi Arabia, outlining performance and safety requirements for in-vehicle DAB products.

- UAE.S 5021:2018 Standard: Which stipulates that from 2020, no less than 50% of vehicles sold in the UAE should have DAB receivers, and from 2024, 100% of vehicles sold should have DAB receivers. The standard also clarifies technical requirements and testing methods for in-vehicle DAB products.

 

Additionally, specific countries have introduced unique requirements for in-vehicle DAB products. For instance:

 

- Tanzania: The Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) has issued minimum technical specifications for Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB+) receivers, specifying compliance with standards like ETSI TS 103 461.

 

When exporting in-vehicle DAB products to multiple countries, enterprises must prepare reports according to each country's requirements to apply for local RF market access certification. Notably, China's JJR Laboratory offers wireless certification services for nearly 140 countries and regions, spanning six continents worldwide.
