As we all know, electronic products are one of the most popular categories on the Amazon platform, attracting much attention from sellers. Currently, Amazon has become the top sales platform for electronic products. According to market data, 18% of sellers on Amazon are selling electronics. However, as the number of sellers in this category grows, the platform's scrutiny is becoming stricter.
Amazon US Platform Requires UL2054 Report for Lithium Batteries!
Explanation: In fact, Amazon only requires a UL2054 report issued by an NRTL-accredited laboratory, not necessarily a certificate. The UL2054 report is sufficient to prove the safety of the battery.
Requirement: Before conducting the UL2054 test for batteries, the cell must have a UL1642 report. If the cell does not have the UL1642 report, it is necessary to first obtain the UL1642 report.
The UL2054 test report is based on the UL2054 standard published by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) in the United States. It is a safety performance assessment report for household and commercial lithium-ion batteries. The test items include electrical performance (such as short circuit, overcharge), mechanical (such as compression, impact), battery pack casing (such as drop impact, fire exposure), and environmental (such as high temperature, temperature cycling) tests. It serves as an important safety certification for selling electronic products on platforms like Amazon.
- Battery Pack Casing Tests
- Drop Impact Tests
- 250N Static Load Tests
- Electrical Tests (such as short circuit, overcharge, mold release tests, fire exposure tests, projectile tests, abusive overcharge tests, over-discharge tests, restricted power source tests)
- Mechanical Tests (such as compression, impact, acceleration, vibration tests)
- Environmental Tests (such as high temperature, temperature cycling tests)
Generally, to get started, you can contact our Chinese JJR laboratory testing engineers. Our engineers will provide you with a sample list, and you will need to prepare the required materials and send them to us. The pricing varies depending on the type of test needed for each product and is determined by the product itself. Any report that doesn't require sending samples is not a real test report. Please be careful not to be misled by low prices!
Once the contract is signed, the samples need to be sent or delivered to the laboratory, along with the following documents:
- Battery cell specification sheet
- Battery specification sheet
- UL1642 certificate for the battery cell
- Specification sheets and information for key components of the battery (such as MOS, IC, PTC, PCM, protection devices, etc.)
- UL certification for plastic shells, tape, wires, PCBs, and other insulating components
- Application form
