This standard applies to fixtures used in non-hazardous areas and installed on branch circuits with a voltage of less than 600 V. UL 1993 is a joint standard issued by UL in the United States, CSA in Canada, and ANCE in Mexico, and is also an ANSI-approved American national standard. It covers self-ballasted lamps and their adapters, with rated input voltages from low voltage up to 347V. Self-ballasted fluorescent lamps (energy-saving lamps) and their adapters, LED bulbs, LED tubes, and other LED light sources destined for the North American market are evaluated under UL 1993.
