EN 50663:2017 is a general standard for the assessment of low-power electronic and electrical equipment concerning human exposure to electromagnetic fields. This standard addresses limitations related to human exposure to electromagnetic fields, magnetic fields, electromagnetic fields, as well as induced and contact currents. It also serves as a method for evaluating such equipment.
This updated harmonized standard (EN 50663:2017) complies with the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) or the Radio Equipment Directive (RED).
DOP (Date of Publication): August 7, 2018
DOW (Date of Withdrawal): August 7, 2020
The standard covers the operational frequency range of electronic and electrical equipment from 10 MHz to 300 GHz.
The conformity assessment of such products must meet the requirements of clauses 4.1 and 6.1 of EN 62479:2010. If the P_max specified in 4.1 B, C, or D is met, the requirements of Annex A of EN 62479 must also be fulfilled. Generally, these products only need to meet the requirements listed in Table 1.
EN 50663:2017 can reference the methods and limits of EN 62479:2010 to meet the assessment requirements related to human exposure limitations of low-power electronic and electrical electromagnetic fields.
