Conducted immunity testing is one of the fundamental EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) test items. The conducted susceptibility test to radio frequency (RF) fields is applied to low-frequency (150kHz-80MHz/230MHz) RF signals. Since the wavelength at these frequencies is much longer than the size of the EUT (Equipment Under Test), the interconnecting cables of the EUT (including power and signal lines) are more likely to act as antennas and receive electromagnetic fields than the EUT itself. Therefore, for the low-frequency portion of RF susceptibility testing, conducted testing is more direct and effective. The RF signals used in conducted immunity tests are the same as those in IEC 61000-4-3 but cover a different frequency range.
China's JJR Laboratory is a professional testing organization that provides a variety of tests, including conducted immunity testing, to its customers.
Conducted immunity testing evaluates the interference tolerance of electronic devices or electrical systems. Its primary purpose is to assess their resistance to electromagnetic interference (EMI) from the external environment.
The test is conducted using advanced EMC instruments from internationally renowned manufacturers such as Germany's R&S, Switzerland's EMTEST, and the USA's AR. These tools ensure the accuracy of test results. The EMC laboratory is designed and operated according to ISO 17025 standards. It includes:
- A 3-meter standard semi-anechoic chamber,
- Three shielded rooms,
- Two electromagnetic emission test systems,
- Two electromagnetic immunity test systems,
- One wireless communication equipment test system,
- Various other testing instruments.
The laboratory provides comprehensive one-stop EMC testing services and is accredited with certifications such as CMA and CNAS.
This test applies to:
- Information technology equipment,
- Photonic and communication devices,
- Marine equipment,
- Railway transportation equipment,
- Power equipment,
- Industrial, scientific, and medical devices,
- Light and heavy industrial equipment,
- Lighting devices,
- Household appliances, and more.
The conducted immunity test is standardized under:
- IEC 61000-4-6: Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) - Testing and measurement techniques - RF Conducted Disturbances, Induced by RF Fields - Immunity Test.
