The EN71-9 toy safety standard specifies the migration or content of certain hazardous organic compounds in specific toys and toy materials through the following exposure routes:

- Mouth contact, swallowing, skin contact, eye contact, inhalation

When used or reasonably foreseeable, considering normal children's behavior and the function and design of the toy.

Packaging materials used in toys are not within the scope of the document unless they are part of the toy or have play value.

Products Subject to the EN71-9 Standard:

- Toys for children under 3 years old that are placed in the mouth, such as teething rings

- Toys or toy parts that can be held in hand or touched by children under 3 years old, weighing no more than 150g

- Mouthpieces of mouth-actuated toys

- Inflatable toys with a surface area greater than 0.5㎡ when fully inflated

- Items that cover the mouth and nose when worn, such as masks

- Drawing tools sold as toys or used in toys, such as erasers on the end of pencils

- Solid toy materials that leave marks, such as solid dyes and crayons
