Thailand's NBTC (National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission) is a government regulatory body with administrative enforcement authority, similar to China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It oversees telecommunication products and networks.
As of July 1, 2008, mandatory regulations for telecommunications equipment and terminal devices originally applied to mobile communication products were expanded to include wireless-related products.
nbtc certification applies to various radio spectrum and wireless communication devices, including but not limited to Wi-Fi equipment, Bluetooth devices, radio transmitters, and satellite communication equipment. NBTC certification is typically required before introducing any of these devices to the Thai market.
1. Telecommunications equipment sold in Thailand is regulated by NTC in three groups:
(1) Class A: Registration;
(2) Class B: Approval Certification;
(3) SDoC: Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity.
1. Class A Approval:
Products must be tested in NTC-designated laboratories and provide data as required by NTC to obtain a registration number and certification.
2. Class B Approval:
The certification procedure is similar to Class A. However, foreign reports such as FCC, CE, and CB can be used for certification applications. A registration number and certification are also required.
3. SDoC Conformity Declaration Model:
This is a voluntary certification model. Customers' local representatives in Thailand must fill out the SDoC form and submit it with technical documents to NTC for filing.
1. SDoC Conformity Declaration Model:
- Voluntary application by local Thai representatives.
- Requires submission of the SDoC form and technical documents to NBTC for filing.
- No sample required.
2. Class A Model:
- Products are tested in NBTC-approved laboratories and must provide data as required to obtain a registration number and certification.
- Samples may be required for some products.
3. Class B Model:
- Similar to Class A, but foreign reports (e.g., RED, FCC, EMC [CE], CB) are accepted for NBTC certificate applications.
- Compliance reviews may require samples.
1. Mandatory certification.
2. Local representative required.
3. Samples usually not required.
4. No local testing required.
5. Application form (provided by China's JJR laboratory).
