In the digital age, routers are essential devices that connect us to the networked world. With the advent of WiFi 6E and WiFi 7 technologies, router performance has significantly improved. WiFi 6E routers offer broader bandwidth and lower latency, ensuring connection stability. WiFi 7 routers represent a new peak in wireless communication technology, delivering faster data transfer rates and an enhanced user experience.
Routers exported to Japan must undergo TELEC (MIC) certification. Japan has strict certification standards for electronic devices to ensure their safety and reliability.
TELEC certification includes Test Certification and Type Certification.
- Test Certification is conducted on each individual device unit and is valid only for the verified unit.
- Type Certification involves testing a sample from a batch of devices that share the same design and manufacturing. This certification is valid for the entire batch. However, if there are any changes in design or manufacturing, re-certification is required.
1. Sign a certification contract with the company and pay the certification fee.
2. Provide one fixed-frequency prototype and one standard prototype, along with the application form and required documentation.
3. The company performs testing, prepares the test report, and submits it to the RCB (Registered Certification Body).
4. Upon approval, the certificate is issued. After final payment, the certificate is sent by the company, completing the process.
1. Complete machine circuit diagram
2. Complete machine block diagram
3. User manual
4. Operating instructions
5. BOM (Bill of Materials)
6. Module circuit diagram
7. Module block diagram
8. Module specification sheet
9. Factory ISO9001 certificate
10. Label and location diagram
11. Antenna specification sheet (including antenna name, type, and form)
12. Product label: must indicate size, placement on the product, include the TELEC mark, and specify the dimensions of the TELEC mark.
All documents must be in English or Japanese; reports in other languages will not be accepted. Also, attention should be paid to the number of product models submitted—submitting multiple models may require differential testing or additional model review fees. According to Japan’s Radio Law, manufacturers are obligated to retain certification materials for 10 years.
