RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) is a mandatory standard legislated by the European Union. Its full name is the Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment. This standard officially came into effect on July 1, 2006, and is primarily used to regulate the materials and technical standards of electrical and electronic products, ensuring they are more beneficial to human health and environmental protection.
The aim of the RoHS standard is to eliminate ten hazardous substances from electrical and electronic products. These include lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), and four types of plasticizers. The standard specifically stipulates that the lead content must not exceed 0.1%.

Testing Unit: JJR Laboratory, China
For products entering the market, besides mandatory certifications, obtaining RoHS certification is crucial. This "green" test checks the substances contained in a product. If a product contains hazardous substances, it cannot receive RoHS certification and thus cannot be sold in the market, affecting customer acceptance. RoHS certification is critical for a product’s success in international markets, representing a technical standard and being a key feature for achieving market approval and sales success.
