The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the regulatory body overseeing radio and telecommunications communications. According to TRA regulations, all wireless devices destined for the UAE market must obtain a model approval.
Applicants for certification must be local companies or foreign companies holding a TRA-issued license before applying for device model approval, which is valid for 5 years.
Currently, mandatory product conformity certification primarily covers IT and household electronic products. Other categories of products are gradually being included, such as mobile phones, tablets, Bluetooth headsets, Bluetooth speakers, projectors, wireless chargers, and massagers.
