SDPPI can issue licenses for the radio spectrum, including the regulation of radio frequency spectrum interference and malfunctions. It is an agency capable of wireless/communication testing and certification, including SDPPI certification for wireless products.
The Directorate General of Resources and Equipment of Post and Information Technology (Direktorat Jenderal Sumber Daya dan Perangkat Pos dan Informatika, SDPPI) in Indonesia is the regulatory body responsible for formulating, planning, and implementing standardization policies in the field of radio and communication, and it also performs public service functions.
For wireless products that need to be exported to Indonesia, DGPT has mandated since June 2009 that they must pass Indonesian SDPPI certification. Safety requirements for low-power devices are not mandatory in Indonesia; however, radio certification for 2.4GHz and 5GHz is compulsory and requires POSTEL certification.
MoU Agreement: When overseas applicants/manufacturers apply for the SDPPI certificate, they need to sign an MoU agreement with local Indonesian distributors/agents.
1. To clarify the relationship between the applicant/manufacturer and the local Indonesian company, facilitating the review of materials by the SDPPI authorities.
2. To exempt the local Indonesian company from additional testing requirements if the applicant/manufacturer has already completed testing in an Indonesian-recognized laboratory. When the local Indonesian company submits the application, they can use the existing report without further testing.
Note: Reports older than three years are not accepted. The report submitted must not be older than three years at the time of application and must be from an SDPPI-recognized laboratory. Certificate validity: three years.
