The Indonesian Directorate General of Resources and Equipment for Post and Informatics (SDPPI) is the regulatory agency responsible for establishing, planning, and implementing standardization policies in radio and communications. SDPPI functions as a public service institution, granting licenses for radio spectrum usage and managing interference within the radio frequency spectrum. This agency has the authority to test and certify wireless and communication products, including SDPPI certification for wireless products.
For wireless products to be exported to Indonesia, SDPPI type approval and customs inspection are mandatory. Since June 2009, the Indonesian Directorate General of Post and Telecommunications (DGPT) has prohibited foreign companies from being certificate holders for type approvals.

1. There is no distinction between Type A and Type B certificates.
2. Manufacturers or importers can directly apply for SDPPI certificates.
3. Certificate validity is three years, with a one-time renewal extending the validity by an additional three years. After six years, a completely new application is required.
4. Since November 14, 2014, products with WLAN and Bluetooth functionalities must provide "direct measurement" samples. The previous policy accepting standard samples for Bluetooth products is no longer in effect.
Products eligible for SDPPI exemption mainly include GPS terminals, servers, network switching devices, keyless systems, wireless charging devices, etc. Required documents for exemption application are as follows:
1. Signed application letter by a genuine importer or manufacturer

4. Document review is sufficient; sample submission is not required.
