How to Get a UL Test Report?

As Amazon's strategic position in global commerce continues to rise, products with electrical components listed on Amazon require relevant UL reports. A test report from a laboratory with ISO 17025 certification is required for normal sales and link restoration. If products purchased by competitors or customers lack relevant safety standard reports, they may engage a U.S. lawyer to send a letter to Amazon demanding the cessation of the sale of the company's products and initiate court procedures to destroy all the company’s products on Amazon. This could essentially mean the company is pushed out of the North American market. Many sellers have reported receiving such notifications, and their products have faced issues like suspension of sales or removal of listings due to failure to provide the UL test report within the stipulated time.

Differences Between UL Certification and UL Test Reports

- UL Certification: Voluntary certification that requires product testing and factory auditing, with quarterly audits. The process is expensive and time-consuming, and factory audits are very strict.

- UL Test Report: After testing a product according to the relevant UL standard and passing, a qualified test report is issued. This is cheaper, faster, and does not require a factory audit. It can be used for Amazon reviews but is invalid for customs clearance.

UL Testing Standards

- Power Products: UL62368-1, UL1310, UL1012, UL2056, UL2089, UL458, UL697, UL60601-1

4. Performance and specifications: such as size, rated voltage, current, frequency, and power.

5. Structural or exploded diagram: Include a diagram of the product's structure with labels for each part to correspond with the component list.

6. Circuit schematic diagram: provide the electrical schematic, PCB schematic, and PCB layout.

7. Product photos, user manuals, safety instructions, installation guidelines, etc.

Process for Obtaining a UL Test Report

1. The applicant submits a request.

2. The applicant fills out the application form and provides the user manual and technical documents.

3. The testing standards and test items are determined, and a quotation is provided.

4. The applicant confirms the quotation and submits samples and relevant technical documents.

5. A fee notice is sent to the applicant, who makes payment based on the notice.
