Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) primarily studies the interference and anti-interference issues of electronic and electrical products. It addresses how to ensure that various electronic and electrical devices, equipment, or systems can operate normally without interfering with each other, achieving a state of compatibility.

EMC is divided into two major categories: EMI and EMS.

- EMI refers to the emission characteristics of a device, specifically the electromagnetic interference it emits externally.

- EMS refers to a device's immunity, its ability to resist external electromagnetic interference. The more sensitive a device is, the poorer its immunity.

EMC Electromagnetic Compatibility Testing Product Range and Standards

1. IT Information Products:

   - EMC Standards: EN 55022/EN 55024, now updated to EN 55032, EN 55035

   - Common Products: Personal computers, telephones, scanners, routers, accounting machines, printers, bookkeeping machines, calculators, cash registers, copiers, data circuit terminal equipment, data preprocessing equipment, data processing equipment, data terminal equipment, dictation devices, shredders, duplicators, power adapters, power supplies, digital cameras, etc.

2. AV Products:

   - EMC Standards: EN 55013/EN 55020, now updated to EN 55032, EN 55035

   - Common Products: Speakers, audio and video teaching equipment, video projectors, video cameras and monitors, amplifiers, DVDs, turntables, optical disc players, CRT TVs, LCD TVs, recorders, radios, etc.

   - Common Products: Light industrial machinery, electrical equipment for light industrial environments, electrical equipment for commercial buildings

7. Heavy Industrial Products:

   - EMC Standards: EN 61000-6-4, EN 61000-6-2

   - Common Products: Various heavy industrial machinery, control cabinets

8. Measuring Instruments and Laboratory Equipment:

   - EMC Standards: EN 61326-1

   - Common Products: Various testing instruments, laboratory electrical equipment, sensors, etc.

How much does CE EMC certification testing cost?

- The cost of CE certification for some products is approximately $1,300 USD (based on a quote from China's JJR laboratory, which can save you about 30% on certification costs).

- Delivery Time: 10 working days

- Samples: 2 sets (including related accessories such as cables, etc.)

- Testing Standards:

  - Electromagnetic Compatibility: EN 55032, EN 55035, EN 61000

  - LVD: EN 62368-1:2020

Standard EMC Testing Items

1. EMI Testing Items:

   - Harmonic Current (2 to 40 harmonics)

   - Flicker

   - Conducted Disturbance (CE)

   - Radiated Disturbance (RE)

2. EMS Testing Items:

   - Electrostatic Discharge Immunity (ESD)

   - Radiated Electromagnetic Field Immunity (80MHz to 1000 MHz) (RS)

   - Electrical Fast Transient/Burst Immunity

   - Surge (Lightning) Immunity

   - Injected Current (150kHz to 230MHz) Immunity (CS)

   - Voltage Dips and Short Interruptions Immunity

EMC Testing Sample Requirements

The product must be in normal operating condition during EMC testing. When sending samples, the corresponding input/output loads and accessories should be included. Connection instructions and installation requirements should be confirmed with the laboratory in advance. If installation software is required, software usage instructions should be sent to the laboratory along with the samples. Generally, two sets of samples are sufficient.

EMC Testing Duration

The electromagnetic compatibility testing can be completed in approximately 2-3 weeks after receiving the test samples and payment. Expedited processing is available upon request. If the test fails and rectification is needed, the timeline will be extended.
