Applies to:
- All electrical or electronic appliances, equipment, and installations that may cause electromagnetic interference or may be affected by electromagnetic interference, such as:
- Household appliances, power tools, lighting fixtures, and other similar devices;
- Industrial equipment;
- Information technology equipment, multimedia equipment;
- Laboratory, measurement, and control equipment;
- Other electronic devices, etc.
Does not apply to:
- Equipment under the 2014/53/EU RED Directive;
- Aviation products, parts, and equipment;
- Amateur radio equipment;
- Products covered by other specific directives;
- Inherently benign equipment.
1. CE certification certificates generally have a validity period of 5 years. However, if the applicable standards or directives are revised, upgraded, or updated, the product may need to be reassessed, and additional differential tests may be required, necessitating a reapplication for CE certification.
2. If the certificate reaches its 5-year validity period, and the manufacturer, supplier, production process, etc., of the enterprise’s product have not changed, and the customers of the enterprise also recognize it, the CE certificate can continue to be used.
