FCC certification, also known as Federal Communications Certification, was established by the Federal Communications Commission in 1934 through the COMMUNICATION ACT. It is an independent government agency directly responsible to Congress.

FCC certification is a mandatory emc certification in the United States, primarily targeting electronic and electrical products from 9KHz to 3000GHz. It covers various aspects including radio, communications, and especially the radio interference issues of wireless communication devices and systems. This includes radio interference limits, measurement methods, certification systems, and organizational management systems.

Applicable Products for FCC Certification:

1. Computers and peripheral devices (keyboards, monitors, power adapters, mice, fax machines, etc.);

2. Household appliances and power tools (refrigerators, electric kettles, electronic disinfection cabinets, microwaves, vacuum cleaners, electric shavers, hair dryers, ovens, massage devices, washing machines, etc.);

3. Lighting fixtures (LED lights, LED screens, stage lights, switches, electronic devices, etc.).

Common FCC Certification Standards:

1. fcc part 15 - Computing Devices, Cordless Telephones, Satellite Receivers, TV Interface Devices, Receivers, Low Power Transmitters;

2. fcc part 18 - Industrial, Scientific, and Medical Equipment, i.e., Microwave, RF Lighting Ballast (ISM);

3. FCC Part 22 - CellULar Telephones;

4. FCC Part 24 - Personal Communications Systems, covers licensed personal communications services;

5. FCC Part 27 - Miscellaneous Wireless Communications Services;

6. FCC Part 68 - All Types of Telecommunications Terminal Equipment, i.e., Telephones, modems, etc.;

7. FCC Part 74 - Experimental Radio, Auxiliary, Special Broadcast, and other program distributional services;

8. fcc part 90 - Private Land Mobile Radio Services includes Paging Devices and Mobile Radio Transmitters, covers land mobile radio products such as high-poweRED walkie-talkies;

9. FCC Part 95 - Personal Radio Service, includes devices such as Citizens Band (CB) transmitters, radio-controlled (R/C) toys, and devices for utilization under the family radio service.

fcc certification process:

1. Declaration of Conformity: The responsible party (manufacturer or importer) tests the product at a qualified testing organization designated by the FCC. If the product complies with fcc standards, it is labeled accordingly, and a statement of compliance is included in the user manual. The test report is retained for FCC inquiries.

2. Application for ID: First, apply for an FRN to fill out other forms. If it is the first time applying for an fcc id, a unique Grantee Code is needed. While waiting for the FCC to approve and assign the Grantee Code, the applicant should test the device. Once all required materials and the test report are ready, and the FCC has approved the Grantee Code, the applicant completes FCC Form 731 and Form 159 online. Upon receiving Form 159 and the payment, the FCC processes the certification application. The average processing time for an FCC ID application is 60 days. Upon completion, the FCC issues the Original Grant of the FCC ID to the applicant. The product can then be sold or exported.

3. Materials Required for FCC Certification:

    - Full name and detailed contact address of the manufacturer and applicant for certification.

    - Copies of the installation and user manual provided to users. If not available, a draft version with relevant content is acceptable.

    - Electrical schematics and descriptions of the working principles of the product. If the product has grounding or antennas, they should be described.

    - A table of the product's operating oscillation frequencies, listing the signal transmission paths and corresponding oscillation frequencies.

    - Other product features that need to be explained.

Notes:

1. Relevant documents should be provided in both Chinese and English.

2. To shorten the certification cycle, it is best to provide the materials in electronic format.

3. Additional related materials may be required during the certification process for special situations.
