The CE has released the 2023 edition of the EN 50360 / EN 50566 regulations. BTL will provide you with a quick overview of the new regulation requirements.
A. Firstly, the rapid SAR regulations for the long-established EN IEC 62209-3 have now been incorporated as recognized testing regulations. This means that future CE SAR tests can use the rapid SAR system for testing and certification. The implementation of the regulation is expected by June 2025.
B. The requirements for time-averaged SAR have also been officially included in the standard.
C. The reference values for limits have been updated.
Table 1 of Annex II of Council Recommendation 1999/519/EC is for general consumer electronic products.
Table A1 of Annex III of Directive 2013/35/EU is for professional equipment that requires professional personnel to use.
Currently, the CE has preliminarily agreed to incorporate rapid SAR as a recognized testing regulation. This will speed up future testing. However, it should be noted that Europe is gradually increasing its efforts in random SAR testing. The testing systems used for random testing will not be limited to only rapid SAR systems or traditional probe SAR systems. Therefore, BTL still recommends conducting tests on both systems for product shipment to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
China JJR Laboratory is an IEC 17025 accredited laboratory equipped with both rapid SAR (cSAR System) and traditional probe (DASY SAR System) systems. They can assist customers in conducting comprehensive random testing verification during shipment.
