We understand that you are looking for an EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) testing laboratory in Colorado. However, we still want to help you understand us; because compared to local Colorado laboratories, we can save you 30% on testing and certification costs.
1. Introduction to EMC certification
EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) refers to the ability of a device or system to operate in accordance with requirements in its electromagnetic environment and not to produce intolerable electromagnetic interference to any device in its environment. Therefore, EMC includes two requirements: on the one hand, the electromagnetic interference generated by the device to the environment during normal operation cannot exceed a certain limit; on the other hand, it means that the device has a certain degree of immunity to the electromagnetic interference in the environment, that is, electromagnetic sensitivity. EMC certification is a directive on electromagnetic compatibility in CE certification.
2. Common standards for EMC certification
product | standard |
IT/AV Power Supplies/Products | EN55032 EN55035 EN61000-3-2 EN61000-3-3 |
Wireless Products | FIND EN 300 220 FIND EN 300 440 FIND EN 300 328 FIND EN 301 357 FIND EN 301 511 FIND EN 301 489 |
Home appliances | EN55014-1, EN55014-2, EN61000-3-2, EN61000-3-3 |
Medical Products | EN55011, EN61000-6-2, EN61000-3-2, EN61000-3-3 |
3. EMC Certification Process
Step 1: Application (1. Fill in the application form; 2. Provide information and send samples);
Step 2: Quotation (engineers will formulate corresponding standards, test time and corresponding costs based on the information you provide);
Step 3: Payment (after the applicant confirms the quotation, signs the case application form and service agreement and pays the money);
Step 4: Testing (the laboratory conducts a full set of tests on the applied product according to relevant EU testing standards);
Step 5: Test passed, report completed;
Step 6: The project is completed and the CE certificate is issued.
IV. Items to be tested for EMC certification
Conducted (9kHz-30MHz) | Radiated immunity (below 1GHz) |
Power radiation (30MHz-300MHz) | Radiated immunity (above 1GHz) |
Magnetic field radiation (9kHz-30MHz) | Fast pulse group EFT/B (±0.1-±4.4kV) |
Space radiation (30MHz-18GHz) | Surge (0.1-6.6kV) |
Intermittent conducted interference | Conducted immunity CS (0.1-30V) |
harmonic | Anti-magnetic field interference MS (0-120A/m) |
Voltage flicker | Power off Dips (0%-100%) |
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) (±0.1-±16.5kV) | Oscillating wave surge (0.1-6.6kV) |
Magnetic field (EFM 10Hz-400kHz) | Harmonic and interharmonic anti-interference, etc. |
