Electric Vehicle Charging Gun Insertion and Removal Life Test

Views :
Update time : 2024-12-20

With the widespread adoption of new energy vehicles, the safety and reliability of the electric vehicle charging gun, as a key component, directly impact the normal operation of electric vehicles and the user's charging experience.

As a professional third-party certification and testing agency for electric vehicle charging guns, China JJR Laboratory is equipped with a charging gun insertion and removal life test machine. We offer testing services to ensure the durability and safety of the charging gun during use.

Purpose of the Charging Gun Insertion and Removal Life Test

The purpose of the insertion and removal life test is to evaluate the mechanical damage and electrical failure resistance of the electric vehicle charging gun plug and socket during daily use. Through testing, we can assess the reliability of the electronic lock action and mechanical locking mechanism of the charging gun plug and socket, ensuring that the connection components of the charging gun will not fail due to frequent insertion and removal during long-term use.

Common Charging Gun Testing Standards

China JJR Laboratory's charging gun insertion and removal life test strictly follows relevant national and international standards, including but not limited to:

- IEC 62196-1 "Plugs, Socket-Outlets, Vehicle Connectors, and Vehicle Inlets for Conductive Charging of Electric Vehicles - Part 1: General Requirements"

- IEC 61851-1 "Electric Vehicle Conductive Charging System - Part 1: General Requirements"

- ul 2251 "Plugs, Socket-Outlets, and Vehicle Connectors for Electric Vehicles"

- GB/T 20234.1 "Connection Devices for Conductive Charging of Electric Vehicles - Part 1: General Requirements"

- GB/T 20234.2 "Connection Devices for Conductive Charging of Electric Vehicles - Part 2: AC Charging Interface"

- GB/T 20234.3 "Connection Devices for Conductive Charging of Electric Vehicles - Part 3: DC Charging Interface"

- GB/T 18487.1 "Electric Vehicle Conductive Charging System - Part 1: General Requirements"

Charging Gun Insertion and Removal Life Test Requirements

Normal Operation (Service Life)

- The charging interface should withstand mechanical stress, electrical stress, thermal stress, and contamination during normal use without excessive wear or other harmful effects.

- The power supply plug, vehicle plug, power supply socket, and vehicle socket should withstand at least 10,000 test cycles. The specific cycles are as follows:

  1. After 970 insertions and removals, immerse the power supply plug or vehicle plug in acid rain for 4-5 seconds, then immediately perform 10 insertion and removal cycles.

  2. After wiping with a dry cloth or air drying, immerse the components in saltwater and turbid water simulation solutions for 10 insertions and removals, followed by a 1-hour powered test.

  3. Repeat the above steps 10 times.

Through these tests, China JJR Laboratory can effectively evaluate the service life of the charging gun under normal operation, ensuring the product meets industry standards and satisfies consumer needs.

Charging Gun Insertion and Removal Life Test Report Process

1. Business Inquiry: The applicant provides product information, images, and test requirements to us.

2. Engineering Quote: Based on the provided information, engineers assess the test items and provide an oral quote to the applicant.

3. Submit Materials: After accepting the oral quote, the applicant submits test samples to our laboratory.

4. Payment: Upon receiving the samples, we send a written quote to the applicant, who arranges payment based on the written quote.

5. Sample Testing: The product is tested according to applicable standards or customer requirements.

6. Issuance of Report: After testing is complete, the laboratory issues a test report and concludes the case.
