The Radio Law requires that radio equipment undergo model approval (i.e., technical regulation conformity certification). Certification is mandatory, and the certifying agency is the MIC (Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications), with TELEC (Telecom Engineering Center) being the primary registered certification body for radio equipment compliance in Japan. TELEC's certification standards and technical specifications for radio equipment can be found on their website under the system for technical regulation conformity certification.
Bluetooth products, ZigBee products, telemetry instruments, Wi-Fi products, wireless microphones, pagers, RFID (2.4GHz, 920MHz) products, UWB positioning products, cellular products, etc.
TELEC certification includes Test Certification and Type Certification. Test Certification involves verifying each individual device unit, and it is valid only for the verified device unit. Type Certification refers to verifying a sample from a batch of devices that have the same design and manufacturing process, and the certification applies to all devices in the batch. However, if the design or manufacturing process of the device changes, a re-certification is required.
1. Sign a certification contract with the company and pay the certification fee.
2. Provide one sample of the conduction law frequency and one standard sample, the application form, and certification documents.
3. The company conducts tests and issues a test report, which is submitted to the RCB agency for review.
4. After the review is complete, the certificate is issued, the remaining balance is paid, and the company sends out the certificate. The case is completed.
1. Schematic diagram of the entire machine, including the wireless module.
2. Block diagram of the entire machine.
3. User manual.
4. Operation manual.
5. BOM (Bill of Materials) list.
6. Module datasheet.
7. Factory ISO9001 certificate.
8. Label and position diagram.
9. Antenna datasheet: including antenna model, type, and antenna gain.
10. Label: needs to show dimensions and product position diagram, and include the Giteki mark.
All documentation and test reports must be in English or Japanese. Other languages are not accepted. Additionally, when submitting, make sure to indicate the number of models; a large number of models may require product difference testing or submission of model review fees. According to Japan's Radio Law, manufacturers are required to retain certification documents for 10 years.
