FCC-ID is a mandatory certification for wireless products in the United States. All wireless products exported to the United States must obtain FCC-ID certification, which is applicable to wireless products with high technical difficulty. Products with wireless transmission frequencies such as Bluetooth devices, WiFi devices, wireless alarm devices, wireless radio receivers and transmitters, telephones, computers, etc., all need to apply for FCC-ID certification. Some clients inquire about how to obtain FCC ID certification for exporting Bluetooth headsets to the United States and what needs to be prepared.
Common standards: FCC Part15 Subpart C 2020.
1. RF power testing, including both conducted power and radiated power;
2. 20 dB bandwidth;
3. Frequency range, to ensure it falls within the specified frequency range: 2402-2480MHz;
4. Radiation testing, requiring 10 times frequency testing;
5. BE testing, i.e., sideband spurious testing;
6. Conducted spurious testing;
7. Transmission time testing.
1. FCC ID Label;
2. FCC ID Label Location;
3. User Manual (for application);
4. Schematic Diagram or Manufacturer;
5. Block Diagram;
6. Theory of Operation;
7. Test Report;
8. External Photos (by a third party);
9. Internal Photos (by the certification body);
10. Test Setup Photos.
Generally, there are two ways to apply for FCC ID certification:
1. Directly send the product to an FCC-approved TCB laboratory to complete the testing. This method is relatively expensive and the timing may not be easily controlled (high cost, not recommended).
2. Send the product to an FCC-approved laboratory (JJRLAB) for testing, prepare the documentation, and obtain the report. Then submit the test report to the TCB institution for certification issuance. Currently, clients mainly use this method. FCC ID certification can be verified online in the United States to discern authenticity.
