Children's playpens, also known as children's play enclosures, play yards, and safety fences, are primarily made of plastic or wooden structures. The main purpose of these playpens is to free up parents' hands by providing a safe and comfortable environment for babies aged 6 months to 3 years. Using a children's playpen helps foster a baby's sense of independence, thinking ability, and concentration, while also providing a good space for physical coordination development.
A baby playpen is a framed enclosure with a bottom and mesh or non-rigid sides, and a height of less than 35 inches. It is designed to provide a safe sleeping and playing area for children who are unable to climb out.
A non-full-size crib is designed to provide a sleeping space for infants. This product is suitable for use in homes, nurseries, family daycares, or public accommodation facilities, including while traveling. The dimensions of a non-full-size crib must meet at least one of the following criteria, or both:
- The internal length is greater than 139.7 cm (55 inches) or less than 126.3 cm (49 3/4 inches).
- The internal width is greater than 77.7 cm (30 5/8 inches) or less than 64.3 cm (25 3/8 inches).
Non-full-size cribs include: foldable or collapsible portable cribs, baby playpens, special baby beds, oversized cribs, and undersized cribs.
