With the advancement of technology, the fifth-generation WiFi communication technology (using the 802.11ac protocol) has emerged and rapidly developed. The 802.11ac protocol operates in the 5GHz frequency band, parts of which overlap with radar bands in various countries. For the 5GHz frequency band, there are two additional testing requirements according to national regulations—DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection) and TPC (Transmit Power Control) (optional).
When the bandwidth of 5G WiFi increases to 80MHz or higher, the transmission speed can reach up to 1Gbps or more, enabling the transfer of approximately 125MB of content per second; continuous updates and improvements are ongoing. Such a high-frequency, high-speed communication protocol imposes higher and stricter demands on testing instruments and equipment, and also raises the technical skill requirements for operators. Therefore, the European Union has updated its Adaptivity requirements to better improve spectrum efficiency.
China’s JJR EMC Laboratory is equipped with a full set of 5G WiFi automated testing systems, with dozens of professional and experienced experts on standby to help you better comply with the new requirements. Customized testing services, along with the SGS automated testing system and professional experts, will make your product stand out.
5G WiFi wireless products, such as routers, mobile phones, and televisions.
1. European CE: ETSI EN 301 893
2. United States FCC: 47CFR
3. Japan MIC: MIC Article 2 No.88
Regulatory compliance testing (including DFS + Adaptivity), customized testing, and pre-production predictive testing.

Concept: DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection) refers to dynamic frequency selection.
Reason: The 5250MHz-5350MHz and 5470MHz-5725MHz bands are globally used by radar systems. To avoid interfering with radar operations while still being able to use this spectrum, countries have added DFS testing requirements on top of traditional 5G WiFi testing.
DFS testing is required if your product operates in the following frequency bands:
1. European CE
(1) 5250MHz-5350MHz
(2) 5470MHz-5725MHz
2. United States FCC
(1) 5250MHz-5350MHz
(2) 5470MHz-5725MHz
3. Japan MIC
(1) 5250MHz-5350MHz
(2) 5470MHz-5725MHz
For CE certification, Adaptivity testing is required whenever complying with ETSI EN 301 893 standards.
This depends on the specific testing item. Please provide engineering samples with individual transmission, MIMO transmission, and normally operating samples for testing.
